Glycans are a class of bioactive molecules widely found in nature, which present a wealth of biological functions due to their structural diversity. To fully characterize the biological functions of glycans, it is necessary to explore their structures in depth. Therefore, Analyzing Glycan Structures is one of the most common tasks performed by glycobiologists. At CD BioGlyco, we integrate advanced glycoinformatics technologies to Interpret and Visualize Glycan Structures, providing our clients with a full range of glycan three-dimensional (3D) structure imaging services.
We use the core N- and O-linked glycans as a native database to provide templates for displaying more complex glycan molecules. The database allows the registration of a wide range of structures from monosaccharide compositions to fully defined glycans, and displays glycan structures based on the concept of oligosaccharide schematics.
In the drawing of glycan structures, bonds of different lengths and widths represent different glycosidic bonds. We provide maximum flexibility to display glycans in any desired or necessary form, size, and orientation. The native database we construct assigns a unique ordinal number to any glycan to identify its structure and displays information about the structure and motifs of the glycan.
We provide tools for displaying glycan structures that allow rapid construction of glycans, and the obtained glycan 3D structures are presented in image format. In addition, our tool automatically detects information about glycan molecules and glycosidic bonds by reading glycan data, sampling glycosidic bonds, ring forms, and side chain conformations, and searching through a database of glycan fragments to generate the "most relevant" glycan 3D structure.
On the other hand, we have a glycan structure imaging tool that provides 3D structural characterization of glycans. We integrate it with various glycoinformatics software to distort and change the orientation of subsequent glycan residues according to their relative positions, thus providing important conformational details in the glycan.

Results: In this article, the authors describe 3D-Symbol Nomenclature for Glycans-Visual Molecular Dynamics (3D-SNFG-VMD), a tool for drawing 3D structures of glycans. 3D-SNFG-VMD integrates VMD data to display 3D structures of glycans. The integrated script in VMD automatically recognizes the names of common monosaccharides and generates 3D shapes when a glycan-containing structure is entered. The glycan 3D structure displayed in VMD can also be saved as a .bmp image file.
CD BioGlyco utilizes key technologies and methods in the field of glycoinformatics to perform accurate glycan 3D structure imaging. We help researchers research and explore glycan structure and function through glycan 3D structure imaging, and promote our clients' in-depth understanding of the interaction mechanisms between glycans and other biomolecules. Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for a partner in glycan structure analysis.
