Acarbose Analysis Service

Your Satisfaction Is the Driving Force of Our Acarbose Analysis Work

CD BioGlyco utilizes a wide range of analytical methods and technologies to support our clients' quality control in Pharmaceutical research. Acarbose is an effective hypoglycemic agent that controls blood glucose levels by inhibiting the activity of α-glucosidase. We provide a one-stop acarbose analysis service, including content determination, microbiological testing, etc., to meet the needs of our clients for pharmacological and applied research on acarbose. Our analytical services are available for acarbose, acarbose tablets, and acarbose capsules. Based on our rich experience in Pharmaceutical and Biological Analysis, we develop specific analytical programs according to client requirements and acarbose types. The analytical programs are listed below:

  • Content determination: The content of acarbose in the sample is detected by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
  • Absorbance: We take the product, dissolve and dilute it with water. Then we detect the absorbance of the sample by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry.
  • Related substances: The content of various impurities in the sample is detected by HPLC.
  • Cauterization residue: The product is taken and determined and the residue left should not be more than 0.2%.
  • Heavy metals: Samples are taken from the residue left under the incandescent residue and tested for heavy metals.
  • Microbiological test: We carry out sterility checks and microbiological tests on the samples according to the requirements of pharmacopeia.
  • Dissolution: The dissolution of acarbose tablets and acarbose capsules is determined by dissolution and release assay.
  • Other analytical items: pH, moisture, etc.

Results: In this study, the stability of the assay proposed by the pharmacopoeia was verified by HPLC detection of acarbose and its impurities in pressurized and untreated acarbose tablets and APIs. The results of forced degradation studies on the samples showed that the degradation products do not interfere with the detection of acarbose. The method is selective and stability-indicative.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What techniques do we use to analyze acarbose?
We apply a variety of analytical techniques to the analysis of acarbose, acarbose tablets, and acarbose capsules, including spectrophotometric and chromatographic techniques (HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, mass spectrometry, and high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry), etc.
  • What should we pay attention to when using HPLC to detect acarbose and impurities?
HPLC method development and validation are critical to the accuracy and precision of the results for acarbose, impurity content, etc. The following points need to be noted when developing HPLC assay methods:
    • Optimization of chromatographic conditions: Based on existing information and experience, optimize chromatographic conditions by changing buffer salts, pH, temperature, flow rate, column, etc., according to the physicochemical properties of compounds.
    • Determination of method applicability through strong degradation tests of active pharmaceutical ingredients
    • Determination of system suitability parameters
    • Validation of the HPLC method

Applications of Acarbose Analysis
