What Is Mannuronic Acid?

D-mannuronic acid and L-guluronic acid are components of alginic acid, a polysaccharide mainly found in brown algae. Studies have shown that D-mannuronic acid has shown positive pharmacological activity in a variety of experimental models, including nephrotic syndrome and acute glomerulonephritis. It has a high safety as a disease therapy and a good prospect of becoming a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
