Metildigoxin (C42H66O14) is a derivative of digoxin in which the hydroxyl group in the terminal β-position of digoxin is replaced by methoxy. Metildigoxin is metabolized to digoxin by demethylation and hydrolyzed to produce mono- and di-glycosides. Results: In this study, a rapid and sensitive analytical method was developed for digoxin and metildigoxin analysis by UPLC-MS/MS. This new chromatographic method is very rapid, with a retention time of only 0.92 min for metildigoxin. At the same time, chromatography provides highly efficient separation and accurate quantification.
