Calcium gluceptate (C14H26CaO16 (anhydrous)) is a highly water-soluble calcium salt with a wide range of applications. In solution, calcium is present in the form of free ionized or calcium glucoheptanoate complexes such as calcium glubionate syrup, and calcium gluceptate injection. Calcium gluconate is a solution containing equal amounts of calcium gluconate and calcium lactate or predominantly calcium lactate.   • Characterization
    CD BioGlyco characterizes the chemical structure, morphology, and elemental composition of calcium gluceptate by using Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis.
  • Identification
    • Calcium: Our researchers use direct titration to determine the calcium content in the solution and then calculate the percentage of calcium gluceptate (C14H26CaO16) in the sample.
    • Thin-layer chromatography (TLC): We provide TLC analysis services for standard solutions and sample solutions. Our analytical solution provides a range of services from solution preparation, plate preparation, development chamber preparation, ultraviolet (UV) detection, and data comparison.
    • Impurity analysis: We provide impurity identification services such as chlorides, sulfates, and reducing sugars analysis.

Results: In this work, researchers tested the effect of calcium glucoheptonate on the development and proliferation of osteoblast-like MG-63 cells in vitro by cellular and molecular biological methods. The multiplex analysis showed that the proliferation and calcium uptake of treated MG-63 cells increased. Meanwhile, the expression of bone-bridging proteins and osteogenic genes was increased in the treated cells. In addition, to detect the damage of calcium glucoheptonate on epithelial cells, researchers treated Caco-2 and human embryonic kidney 293T (HEK-293T) cells with calcium glucoheptonate, and no cytotoxic effects were detected.
