Custom Glycoconjugate Synthesis

Custom Glycoconjugate Synthesis

CD BioGlyco's biologists use advanced technology platforms to synthesize different kinds of high-quality and complex glycoconjugate molecules. We are confident to be your essential research assistant in the field of glycobiology.

Background

Glycoconjugates are ubiquitous in nature. They are located on the surface of cells and are responsible for processes such as cell-cell interaction, recognition and communication. The most common conjugates are oligosaccharides covalently linked to proteins, peptides, lipids or oligonucleotides. Many studies have reported that glycoconjugates play a key role in the development of vaccines against cancer, viral and bacterial infections and many other diseases. The conjugation of carbohydrates with other molecules such as proteins can improve the solubility, thermal stability, emulsifying ability of protein.

Synthetic glycoconjugates are an excellent tool to elucidate the role of natural glycoconjugates in different biological processes, and it is important to vigorously develop chemical methods for conjugating carbohydrates with biomolecules. In these conjugates, oligosaccharides are usually cross-linked to reporter groups that can be easily detected, such as fluorescent dyes, enzymes, liposomes, colloidal gold, etc. Since sugars have very high spatial requirements for recognizing specific cell receptors, these conjugates should be designed to minimize steric interference by the newly added parts.

Services

CD BioGlyco will synthesize glycoconjugates according to customers' research needs. We strictly control the quality of synthesized glycoconjugates.

  • We can use customer-supplied oligosaccharides to prepare conjugates, or we can prepare entire conjugates including oligosaccharide moieties. Regardless of synthesizing oligopeptides or oligonucleotide glycoconjugates, we will modify these compounds during solid phase synthesis process by introducing spacers with functional groups that can be used for subsequent cross-linking with oligosaccharides, the length and hydrophilicity of the spacer will maximize the interaction of these compounds with their receptors.
  • We also provide conjugates with labels on oligosaccharides, such as fluorescent labels (fluorescein, rhodamine, Texas red, etc.), fluorescent compounds can be detected by fluorescence microscopy and fluorescence spectrofluorometry. Other labeling methods, including colloidal gold and ferritin, can be detected by electron microscopy.
