High-Throughput Glycan Screening Using 19F-Labeled Probes

High-Throughput Glycan Screening Using 19F-Labeled Probes

Application of 19F-labeled Probes

19F-labeled probes are probes obtained by labeling a molecule with a fluorine atom. The use of radioisotopes or stable isotopes to label molecules is a common technique used to track and detect the location, activity, and interaction of target molecules within an organism or in a chemical reaction. 19F-labeled probes are typically one or more fluorine atoms introduced into the molecular structure and the fluorine atoms are in the 19F isotopic state. The use of 19F-labeled probes allows the monitoring and detection of the presence and relative abundance of molecules in a sample using techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Because of the high sensitivity and low background interference of 19F NMR, 19F-labeled probes are widely used in drug discovery, biomolecular detection, and bioimaging for research and development of new drugs, exploration of biological processes, and understanding of molecular interactions and metabolic pathways.

High-Throughput Glycan Screening Using 19F-Labeled Probes at CD BioGlyco

High-throughput screening (HTS) plays a critical role in drug discovery and chemical biology. CD BioGlyco offers high-throughput glycan screening services using 19F-labeled probes to help you evaluate large numbers of glycan samples quickly and accurately. Our services encompass a diverse range of offerings, including but not limited to:

  • Detection of the presence and relative abundance of glycan
We design 19F-labeled probes based on specific glycan structures. The presence and relative abundance of specific glycans in the sample are detected and analyzed by binding the glycans to the 19F label using NMR. Thus, it is possible to determine which glycans in a large mixture of glycans react with the sample to be tested.
  • Explore the interactions of glycans with other molecules
We use 19F-labeled probes to help you study the interactions between glycans and other molecules, receptors, or enzymes. Monitor the binding of glycans to other molecules by observing changes or movement of the 19F NMR signal to help you further study their binding affinity, kinetics, and spatial conformation.
