Anticoagulant Citrate Dextrose Analysis Service

Anticoagulant Citrate Dextrose Analysis Service

High-quality Analytical Protocol for Anticoagulant Citrate Dextrose (ACD)

Anticoagulants are a class of substances that prevent blood from clotting. Anticoagulant citrate dextrose achieves its anticoagulant effect by combining with Ca2+ in the blood to form a chelate, which inactivates Ca2+. CD BioGlyco provides comprehensive ACD analytical services including its different types such as anticoagulant citrate phosphate dextrose analysis and anticoagulant citrate phosphate dextrose adenine analysis services. CD BioGlyco has a professional analysis team to provide clients with reliable and fast Pharmaceutical Analysis services. Our analysis includes solution preparation, component determination, and data analysis.

  • Solution preparation
    • ACD solution: citric acid, sodium citrate, and dextrose in water
    • Anticoagulant citrate phosphate dextrose solution: monobasic sodium phosphate, citric acid, sodium citrate, and dextrose in water
    • Anticoagulant citrate phosphate dextrose adenine solution: adenine, monobasic sodium phosphate, dextrose, sodium citrate, and citric acid in water

    • Notably, all solutions do not contain any antimicrobial drugs. Our researchers dissolve and mix these ingredients in water. The solution is filtered until it presents a clarified state. It is transferred to a suitable container (e.g. colored, transparent, single-dose container) and immediately sterilized for processing.
  • Analysis
    • Identification tests: we provide dextrose identification service by titration assay. Our researcher adds a few drops of solution to hot alkaline cupric tartrate TS to observe the phenomenon. If a large amount of red precipitate appears, it indicates the presence of dextrose. In addition, we also provide citrate, sodium, and phosphate identification services based on a reliable criterion.
    • Component determination
      • Total citrate and total phosphate analysis: We provide standard analytical services ranging from standard preparation, and chromatographic analysis to data processing. All conditions are performed according to standardized procedures. Every step is strictly controlled.
      • Sodium analysis: We provide standard solution and sample solution preparation services. Detect the sodium flame emission readings of the standard and sample solutions at a maximum emission wavelength of 589 nm by an appropriate flame photometer. Moreover, we provide the calculation service of sodium (Na) content in 1000 mL solution.
      • Dextrose analysis: The dextrose content is calculated by measuring the copper oxide precipitation in the substance.
  • Others
We provide impurities analysis services such as chlorides and sulfates. In addition, we also provide pH tests and bacterial endotoxin tests.

Results: In this study, researchers used different anticoagulation tubes to separate plasma samples. The use of ACDs provided reliable levels of circulating particles in vivo and did not interfere with subsequent analysis of the samples. Multiple analyses showed that the addition of the ACD was effective in maintaining the condition of the blood samples. This provides a new way to standardize the processing of fresh and biobanked plasma samples.
