Iron dextran is a low molecular weight iron hydroxide complex and is an effective iron supplement. Iron dextran is taken up by macrophages via endocytosis and releases ferrous iron (Fe2+). Upon entering the bloodstream, ferrous iron is immediately oxidized to ferric iron (Fe3+) by ceruloplasmin, which binds to transferrin and is transported throughout the body for utilization.   • Identification test
    Our researchers provide simple and rapid identification services. To detect changes in color and precipitation for the determination of iron dextran, add ammonia solution or anthrone solution to the sample solution. We provide accurate Fe content testing service by sodium thiosulfate titration. Where each 1ml of sodium thiosulfate titrant consumed indicates the presence of 5.585 mg of Fe. In addition, we provide free iron rapid identification service, chloride content determination service, loss on drying to constant weight, and metal content determination services.
  • Molecular weight determination
    We determine the molecular weight distribution of iron dextran by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The molecular weight distribution of the samples is determined by comparing the retention times of different molecular weight controls of iron dextran (peak molecular weights of 2000 to 60,000) with the samples to be tested.
    Moreover, we provide high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis, thin-layer chromatography (TLC) analysis, mass spectrometry (MS) analysis, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra analysis services.
  • Special test
    For iron dextran tablets, we provide a high-sensitive dissolution rate analysis service by atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
    For iron dextran injection, we analyze the unabsorbed Fe content at the injection site by constructing an animal model. Our researchers have proven experience in raising animals, constructing models, and administering drugs by injection. The administered samples and control samples are measured by UV spectrophotometer. During the administration period, our researchers regularly observe and record the animal status e.g. body weight, skin status, color changes at the injection site, etc. Moreover, we perform gel or photometrics on qualitative or semi-quantitative endotoxin.

Results: Administration of the intervention under equivalent modeling conditions revealed improvement in all groups of rats except the iron deficiency group. The rate of weight recovery increased with higher frequency and concentration of administration and intervention. Researchers found that iron interferes with VD metabolism by regulating hydroxylase expression at the translational and transcriptional levels. Appropriate iron supplementation facilitates VD activation.
