Mannosamine is an amino derivative of mannose. It can serve as an inhibitor to prevent the incorporation of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) into proteins. Mechanistically, it reduces the expression of GPI-anchored proteins and converts the proteins into unpolarized secretory products by consuming GPI precursor lipids with strong transport capacity. In addition, mannosamine also inhibits aggrecanase-mediated cleavage of aggrecan and relevant changes in the physical properties and biochemical composition of articular cartilage, which is an important part of the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis.

CD BioGlyco provides clients with a full range of one-stop mannosamine metabolism analysis solutions to support scientific research. As a new development direction of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), high-performance ion exchange chromatography (HPIC) has manifested its unique advantages in the analysis of amino-saccharides. CD BioGlyco offers high-performance anion exchange chromatography-pulse amperometric detection (HPAEC-PAD) for the detection and analysis of mannosamine metabolism.

For amino-saccharides, the traditional detection methods include GC, HPLC, and IR. However, in GC, the sample pretreatment process is complicated and derivatization is required. The sensitivity of IR is so low that the detection effect is difficult to reach the expectation.
The ion chromatographic method ensures the sensitivity and stability analysis for mannosamine and is carried out efficiently. In addition, sample pretreatment is relatively simple and easier to automate.
Clients simply mail samples to CD BioGlyco. Make sure that the samples remain active during transportation. Dry ice is recommended to be added. Then, you just need to trust CD BioGlyco for the extraction, detection, and analysis of carbohydrate metabolites in the samples. Our core pretreatment process is followed by accurately weighing the sample and dissolving it with ultrasound-assisted dissolution. Both solid and liquid samples are acceptable.
CD BioGlyco has multiple detection solutions such as HPLC, LC-mass spectrum (MS), GC-MS, capillary electrophoresis (CE), and HPAEC to support your need in carbohydrate metabolite analysis. We will customize personalized Solutions according to specific requirements and provide one-to-one analysis services. If you require Carbohydrate Metabolism Analysis services, please contact us as soon as possible. Look forward to deep cooperation with you.
