Description
Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), is a tropical evergreen tree with edible fruit. Mangosteen peel contains xanthonoids. Polysaccharide and xanthone compounds are found in the fruit, leaves, and heartwood of the mangosteen. Fully ripe fruit contain xanthones, garthanin, 8-disoxygartanin, and normangostin.
