Properties
Description
This biocompatible and biodegradable polymer-carbohydrate conjugate features poly(lactic acid) (PLA), a widely used polyester for drug delivery and tissue engineering, covalently linked via a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer to mannose. This high-purity material is suitable for the fabrication of targeted drug delivery systems or the creation of mannose-functionalized scaffolds for tissue engineering applications with controlled degradation and potential for enhanced cell interaction.
Source
Chemical synthesis
Solubility
PLA-PEG-mannose is soluble in a wide range of organic solvents, such as DCM, DMF, and DMSO, and shows excellent solubility in water.
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
PLA-PEG-mannose can be used to develop biodegradable materials with potential mannose-specific surface interactions.
