Role Summary

The Senior Chemist will be responsible for handling all chemical synthesis techniques and be accountable for managing all phases of their assigned projects from concept through release, ensuring adequate prioritization and timely execution of the projects. This position requires the candidate to provide technical training to his/her team and others. This individual will work closely with Purification, QC, Sales & Business Development, and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize Saccharide both in solution phase and on solid phase
• Perform analysis using MALDI-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, TLC, -UV-Vis, and NMR
• Perform purification using Prep-HPLC, recrystallization, and other techniques
• Perform saccharide production process development and improvement
• Be able to work independently and within a team

Basic Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines
• Experience in organic synthesis and purification
• Prior work experience in Saccharide preferred
• Prior work experience in large scale Saccharide production preferred
• Prior work experience in large scale chemical purification preferred
• Experience in Reverse Phase HPLC, TLC, and Mass Spectrometry
