Scoulerine is isolated from the herbs of Corydalis dubia. It has been shown to have cox-2 inhibitory and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as being a potential chemotherapeutic agent. Scoulerine inhibits the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which is responsible for inflammation and pain, by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). This product can be used for research on anti-inflammatory properties.
