Description

This high-purity synthetic single-lipid formulation features myristoleoylphosphatidylcholine liposomes (14:1 (Δ9-cis) PC liposomes). The vesicular matrix self-assembles entirely from the symmetric, short-chain monounsaturated lipid dimyristoleoylphosphatidylcholine (14:1 (Δ9-cis) PC). The combination of a short C14 backbone and a rigid cis double bond kink at the delta-9 position (Δ9-cis) severely restricts tight acyl chain packing, resulting in an exceptionally low phase transition temperature (Tm < -4ºC) and high membrane fluidity under ambient laboratory conditions.
