Description

This high-purity synthetic single-lipid formulation features 1-palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine liposomes (16:0-18:2 PC liposomes). The vesicular matrix self-assembles entirely from the asymmetric di-unsaturated phospholipid 1-palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (16:0-18:2 PC). The pairing of a saturated C16 palmitoyl tail with a di-unsaturated C18 linoleoyl tail establishes a fluid liquid-crystalline phase matrix at room temperature (Tm -16ºC), providing a precise structural baseline for exploring non-sterol lipid packing configurations.
