Description

This highly advanced material comprises 17-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin loaded anti-CD90 targeted magnetic thermosensitive liposomes (CD90@17-AAG/TMs). The complex architecture features a thermosensitive lipid vesicle encapsulating superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles within its aqueous compartments and the hydrophobic hsp90 inhibitor 17-allylamino-17-demethoxygeldanamycin (17-AAG) within its bilayer, while the outer surface is functionalized with anti-CD90 monoclonal antibodies. When exposed to an external alternating magnetic field or elevated temperatures matching the lipid phase transition threshold in a laboratory assay, the magnetic nanoparticles generate localized hyperthermia, triggering a sharp phase change in the bilayer that accelerates drug release. The resulting immunoliposomes provide a multi-responsive model for studying targeted, thermally triggered mass transport phenomena.
