Description
This high-purity synthetic model formulation features diheptadecanoylphosphatidylcholine and cholesterol liposomes (17:0 PC:Chol (70:30) liposomes) prepared at a precise molecular ratio. The vesicular matrix self-assembles from exactly 70 mol% of the symmetric odd-chain phospholipid diheptadecanoylphosphatidylcholine (17:0 PC) and 30 mol% of high-purity cholesterol (Chol). The use of synthetic, odd-numbered saturated C17 heptadecanoyl acyl tails introduces unique chain-packing irregularities and specific thermodynamic phase transition parameters, presenting an advanced reference model for examining unconventional lipid-sterol interaction dynamics.
