Description
This high-purity synthetic model formulation features dibehenoylphosphatidylcholine and cholesterol liposomes (22:0 PC (DBPC):Chol (70:30) liposomes) prepared at a precise molecular ratio. The vesicular matrix self-assembles from exactly 70 mol% of the symmetric long-chain saturated phospholipid dibehenoylphosphatidylcholine (22:0 PC, commonly known as DBPC) and 30 mol% of high-purity cholesterol (Chol). The long, fully saturated C22 behenoyl chains align tightly with the cholesterol sterol rings, establishing an exceptionally thick and rigid liquid-ordered phase matrix with high thermal stability.
