Description

This high-purity synthetic model formulation features dilignoceroylphosphatidylcholine and cholesterol liposomes (24:0 PC:Chol (70:30) liposomes) prepared at a precise molecular ratio. The vesicular matrix self-assembles from exactly 70 mol% of the symmetric ultra-long saturated phospholipid dilignoceroylphosphatidylcholine (24:0 PC) and 30 mol% of high-purity cholesterol (Chol). The combination of ultra-long saturated C24 chains and cholesterol creates an incredibly dense and thick liquid-ordered domain layout that exhibits exceptionally low passive permeability under ambient laboratory conditions.
