3’-Galactosyllactose (3’GL) Production Service

3’-Galactosyllactose (3’GL) Production Service

3'-Galactosyllactose (3'GL) has excellent biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, regulating the immune system and the balance of intestinal flora. It has shown potential and broad market prospects in the infant formula industry and the medical industry. Through competent assistance by our researchers and the fastest delivery of high-quality 3’GL products at fair prices, CD BioGlyco has become a “preferred supplier” of many clients.

3'GL with a Special Oligosaccharide Structure

Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are low-polymer sugars that cannot be digested by the gastrointestinal tract but can be hydrolyzed by colonized microorganisms in the intestinal tract. They produce small molecular organic acids, nourish intestinal epithelial cells, maintain the intestinal mucosal barrier, and resist the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms while reducing the pH value of the colon and promoting the absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron, and other minerals. Some functional HMO structures with elevated expression levels in mammalian colostrum form different galactosyl-lactoses based on the extension of lactose, such as 3’GL (beta-D-Galp-(1-3)-beta-D-Galp-(1-4)-D-Glc). The development of science and technology and the exploration of scientific researchers led to the discovery of the structure and some functions of 3'GL, which are expected to be applied to human food and medicine.

The Exploration Process of 3'GL

Although 3'GL has been isolated from bovine colostrum before, it was isolated from human milk glycan for the first time through cycle chromatography by Donald and Feeney in 1988. Later, it is separated from bear, camel, reindeer, elephant, and other mammals’ milk. As a special oligosaccharide structure in breast milk, 3'GL has many beneficial and positive effects on infant health, such as regulating innate immunity and cultivating healthy intestinal microflora. Recently, some studies have shown that 3’GL may attenuate NF-kB inflammatory signaling, which has an anti-inflammatory effect on human intestinal epithelial cells in vitro. 3’GL has potential clinical research value as a strong physiological anti-inflammatory agent in human colostrum and early milk.
