Description

This specialized formulation features non-mitogenic acidic fibroblast growth factor 1-loaded pegylated long-circulating liposomes (NMFGF1-PEG). The structural vesicle architecture consists of a highly optimized phospholipid bilayer containing distearoylphosphatidylethanolamine-polyethylene glycol conjugates that encapsulate the water-soluble macromolecular protein within its internal aqueous core. The surface-exposed polyethylene glycol chains create a dense hydrophilic steric barrier that prevents vesicle aggregation and shields the protein backbone from rapid environmental degradation. The resulting sub-micron vesicles exhibit high colloidal stability and protect the delicate structural conformation of the growth factor cargo.
