Fumagillin, soluble in DMSO and warmed ethanol and insoluble in water, impedes the function of aminopeptidases, enzymes involved in protein processing and degradation. It targets MetAP2.
Fumagillin serves to study angiogenesis, especially the formation of new blood vessels, often used in cancer research to inhibit tumor growth.
