Properties
Description
Beta-1, 3-N-Acetylhexaminyltransferase (LgtA) is a glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the transfer of N-acetylglucosamine from UDP-GlcNAc to N-acetyl lactosamine and lactose.
Unit Definition
One unit will catalyze the transfer 1 μmol GlcNAcβ1, 3Galβ1, 4 Glc from lactose and UDP-GlcNAc per hour at 37ºC.
Purity
≥90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Applications
Beta-1, 3-N-Acetylhexaminyltransferase (LgtA) can be used to modify polysaccharide molecules to produce improved drug carriers or vaccine candidates.
