SGX-523, soluble in warmed DMSO and insoluble in water and ethanol, inhibits the enzymatic activity of the c-Met tyrosine kinase, the receptor of hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor (HGF/SF), interfering with pathways leading to cell growth and metastasis. It targets B-Raf (V599E), C-Raf, Abl, Abl1 (Y253F), c-Met, and p38α.
