Description

This classic reference formulation features carboxyfluorescein-loaded liposomes (CF liposomes) engineered as a highly sensitive self-quenching membrane leakage model. The vesicular architecture encapsulates the highly water-soluble green fluorophore 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein (CF) entirely within its internal aqueous core at a self-quenching concentration (50-100 mM). This specialized design establishes a non-leaking reference system where any physical membrane deformation, pore formation, or vesicle lysis triggers immediate dye dilution into the surrounding environment, resulting in a dramatic, trackable increase in fluorescence emission intensity due to the relief of self-quenching.
