Description

This highly advanced biomimetic system features cell membrane-encapsulated docetaxel long-circulating liposomes. The structural matrix incorporates the highly hydrophobic taxane diterpenoid docetaxel within the hydrocarbon tail core of a phospholipid bilayer modified with polyethylene glycol polymer-lipid conjugates, which is subsequently enveloped by an outer coating of native cellular membrane fragments. This dual-layer structural configuration establishes a robust hydrophilic steric shield intertwined with complex native cell membrane proteins and antigens, completely preventing physical vesicle aggregation and controlling the passive crystallization of the taxane cargo.
