Description

This product features chitosan-modified dioleoylphosphatidylcholine liposomes (Chitosan-modified DOPC liposomes) engineered with a polycationic surface matrix to alter fluid lipid interfacial parameters. The structural framework consists of a high-purity fluid dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC) vesicle core whose exterior boundary is completely enveloped by an electrostatically bound outer layer of the natural polysaccharide polymer chitosan. The amine groups of the chitosan coating introduce a highly positive surface charge profile and establish a dense hydrophilic steric layer around the fluid lipid headgroups, increasing membrane thickness and altering membrane bending elasticity.
