This specialized optical tracking formulation features 1,1'-dioctadecyl-3,3,3',3'-tetramethylindodicarbocyanine labeled liposomes (DID-labeled liposomes). The vesicular framework incorporates the lipophilic dialkylcarbocyanine dye 1,1'-dioctadecyl-3,3,3',3'-tetramethylindodicarbocyanine perchlorate (DiD) directly within the hydrophobic hydrocarbon tail core of a high-purity phospholipid bilayer shell.
