Dopamine-modified mesoporous SiO2 nanoparticles (DA-MSNs) are silica nanoparticles where dopamine has been polymerized or grafted onto the surface. The polydopamine layer provides excellent wet-adhesion properties and a surface rich in catechol and amine groups for secondary functionalization.
