Description

This classic reference formulation features doxorubicin liposomes with surface-modified polyethylene glycol 2000. The vesicular anatomy features a high-purity phospholipid-cholesterol bilayer shell encapsulating the water-soluble hydrochloride salt of the anthracycline doxorubicin entirely within its central aqueous core via an active gradient crystal matrix, whose outer surface is modified with functionalized polyethylene glycol 2000 (PEG2000) lipid anchors. This precise modification introduces a dense hydrophilic steric brush layer that completely prevents physical vesicle aggregation, isolating the active core and restricting passive doxorubicin leakage.
