Description

This highly complex material comprises dual-functional chromium-doped zinc gallogermanate near-infrared persistent luminescence nanoparticles conjugated with aptamers and encapsulated within alendronate-modified liposomes (ZGGO:Cr-Apt@Lip-AL nanoprobes). The structural matrix features a robust phospholipid vesicle shell modified with surface-bound bone-targeting alendronate (AL) molecules, which encapsulates pre-formed chromium-doped zinc gallogermanate (Zn3Ga2GeO8:Cr3+ or ZGGO:Cr) persistent luminescence nanodots that are covalently functionalized with synthetic oligonucleotidic aptamers (Apt). This advanced hybrid configuration pairs long-lasting, excitation-free optical emission with a multi-functionalized target modeling surface. The resulting nanoprobes exhibit high physical stability against cargo leakage and gravitational sedimentation in laboratory test setups.
