Description

This biomimetic hybrid formulation features erythrocyte membrane lipid-coated harringtonine liposomes. The structural matrix encapsulates the hydrophilic cephalotaxine alkaloid harringtonine within the central aqueous core of a synthetic lipid vesicle, whose exterior surface is enveloped by a self-assembled outer lipid layer derived directly from natural erythrocyte membrane extractions. This complex surface coating introduces native cellular lipids, asymmetry parameters, and specific membrane carbohydrates directly into the synthetic matrix, altering the surface energy and topography while restricting the passive leakage of the alkaloid cargo.
