Description

This formulation provides etoposide stealth liposomes configured to encapsulate a semi-synthetic podophyllotoxin derivative within a sterically stabilized framework. The structural matrix incorporates the hydrophobic compound etoposide directly into the hydrocarbon core of a phospholipid bilayer modified with polyethylene glycol conjugated lipids to establish a stealth layer. This configuration prevents the rapid crystallization and phase separation of the active agent in open aqueous suspension while introducing a protective hydrophilic steric barrier on the outer boundary. The resulting vesicles exhibit high colloidal stability and a narrow sub-micron size distribution profile.
