Description

This formulation provides etoposide stealth proliposomes (VP16 PLs) prepared as a dry, free-flowing granular matrix to optimize drug stability and subsequent surface characteristics. The structural framework consists of a water-soluble carbohydrate core coated with a thin lipid film containing etoposide and polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugated lipids. This dry configuration prevents both chemical degradation during storage and premature drug leakage before reconstitution. Upon hydration, the granules rapidly dissolve and self-assemble into pegylated nanoliposomes that display a protective steric barrier on their outermost boundary.
