Description
Europium fluoride nanocrystals/poly(n-isopropylacrylamide) (EuF3/PNIPAm) composite hydrogels are luminescent thermo-responsive materials. The composition incorporates rare-earth nanocrystals into a temperature-sensitive polymer matrix to create a system where the optical signal is modulated by the gel's swelling state. The structure undergoes a sharp volume phase transition that alters the local environment of the EuF3 emitters.
