Description

This high-purity synthetic tracking reference formulation features fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine liposomes (FITC-labeled phospholipid liposomes (DSPC-FITC)). The vesicular matrix self-assembles entirely from the symmetric fully saturated long-chain lipid 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DSPC) without containing active drug cargo, incorporating a precise molecular fraction of the visible green fluorophore fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) linked directly to lipid headgroup anchors. This controlled composition establishes a rigid, highly ordered gel-phase bilayer core at room temperature characterized by an exceptionally high gel-to-liquid phase transition temperature (Tm 55ºC), paired with sharp green fluorescence emission parameters.
