These fluorescent chitosan nanoparticles (Fluorescent chitosan nanoparticles) consist of a cationic glucosamine polymer network covalently grafted with small-molecule fluorophores such as fluorescein isothiocyanate or rhodamine. The structural matrix maintains a highly uniform spherical shape while emitting a stable, intense light signal upon appropriate wavelength excitation. It displays a highly sensitive surface charge that responds directly to variations in environmental pH and ionic strength.
