Description

This advanced biomimetic core-shell hybrid material features fluorescently labeled natural red blood cell membrane coated gold nanorods. The sub-micron architecture consists of anisotropic metallic gold (Au) nanorods completely enveloped within a protective outer layer of isolated natural erythrocyte membrane fractions, which are surface-tagged with lipid-anchored fluorophores. This hybrid configuration coordinates the intense localized surface plasmon resonance and photothermal parameters of anisotropic noble metal nanocrystals with the complex surface protein topography and fluid dynamics of a natural cell membrane envelope, establishing an exceptionally stable tracking standard that prevents metal aggregation.
