Glechoma Hederacea Lectin Production Service

Glechoma Hederacea Lectin Production Service

Glechoma hederacea Lectin Production Service at CD BioGlyco

CD BioGlyco has extensive experience in Lectin Production and analysis. A variety of plant lectins are isolated. Researchers isolate a lectin with insecticidal activity from G. hederacea leaves. It has sugar-binding specificity for GalNAc, methyl-α-d-galactopyranoside, and others. To fulfill the research needs of our clients regarding the different directions of G. hederacea lectins, we have developed the G. hederacea production service.

  • G. hederacea lectin production services

Lectins are mainly found in G. hederacea leaves and accumulate at the early stage of leaf maturation. We extract lectins from G. hederacea leaves as raw material. We are experienced in Plant Lectin Production. We optimize lectin based on reported lectin production protocols. Affinity Chromatography utilizes the principle of reversible binding of biomolecules to ligands. It is currently the most commonly used protein purification method and is widely used for lectin production. After isolating the lectin from the leaves, we purify it by affinity chromatography. Finally, through the optimized separation and purification method, we obtain the lectin products with high purity and yield.

Physicochemical property tests of lectins help in their functional studies. We also provide G. hederacea lectin analysis services. We analyze its secondary structure by circular dichroism. Its hemagglutination activity is detected by a stability test. Plant lectins are distinguished from all other plant proteins by their sugar-binding specificity. We test the glycan specificity of G. hederacea lectins by hemagglutination and semi-antigen inhibition assays.

To expand the range of lectin applications, we produce a variety of lectin-conjugate products. We have a wide range of G. hederacea lectin products.

Results: In this study, the content of lectins (called Gleheda) in a dozen plants of G. hederacea was compared. The lectins in some of these plants were also isolated and characterized. The results showed that Gleheda was a potent hemagglutinin. Its carbohydrate binding specificity was determined by sugar inhibition experiments. The results showed that it was inhibited only by GalNAc, methyl-α-d-galactopyranoside, and Gal. Gleheda's sugar-binding specificity was also verified by experiments to detect the interaction of the lectin with different plant and animal glycoproteins.
