Description
Gold nanoparticle-decorated upconversion nanoparticles (AuNPs@UCNPs) are satellite-like heterostructures composed of a lanthanide-doped upconversion crystalline core whose exterior surface is decorated with tiny spherical gold nanoparticles. The precise spacing between the gold nanoparticles and the upconversion core determines the extent of plasmonic modulation on the upconversion luminescence emission. This product features a rare ability to translate near-infrared light inputs into tunable wavelengths via non-linear optical processes.
