Description

This advanced composite material features gold nanorod-loaded indocyanine green liposomes (Au@liposome-ICG) designed with an anisotropic inorganic-organic hybrid architecture. The complex internal structure encapsulates gold nanorods (Au) within the central aqueous reservoir, while the amphiphilic near-infrared dye indocyanine green (ICG) is localized at the polar-nonpolar interface of the surrounding phospholipid bilayer shell. This design combines the distinct localized surface plasmon resonance characteristics of anisotropic gold nanorods with the near-infrared optical properties of the indocyanine dye. The surrounding lipid framework stabilizes the components and prevents metallic core aggregation or premature dye leakage during testing.
