Description

These nanoreactors consist of manganese oxide nanoparticles (Mn{x}O{y}) securely encapsulated within the hollow cavities of mesoporous silica nanospheres. The silica shell prevents the aggregation of the manganese oxide cores while allowing reactants to diffuse through the mesopores to reach the active catalytic sites. This confinement effect ensures high catalytic efficiency and prevents the leaching of the metal oxide during liquid-phase reactions.
