Description

This advanced composite formulation features N-trimethyl chitosan coated cationic liposomes (N-Trimethyl chitosan (TMC)-coated cationic liposomes). The structural framework consists of a cationic phospholipid vesicle core whose exterior boundary is completely enveloped by an electrostatically bound outer layer of the water-soluble quaternized polymer N-trimethyl chitosan (TMC). This dual-cationic surface modification drastically increases the overall positive surface charge density, introduces a dense hydrophilic steric polymer brush layer around the lipid headgroups, and increases overall membrane thickness to prevent physical vesicle aggregation.
