Description

This advanced composite formulation features N-trimethyl chitosan coated sparfloxacin nanoliposomes (N-Trimethyl chitosan (TMc)-coated sparfloxacin nanoliposomes). The structural framework consists of a high-purity phospholipid sub-micron vesicle core encapsulating the fluorinated compound sparfloxacin, whose exterior boundary is completely enveloped by an electrostatically bound outer layer of the water-soluble quaternized polymer N-trimethyl chitosan (TMc). This surface modification introduces a highly positive surface charge profile and establishes a dense hydrophilic steric layer around the lipid headgroups, which increases membrane thickness and controls the passive crystallization of the fluoroquinolone cargo in open aqueous suspension.
