Properties
Description
These keratin nanoparticles consist of a stable biopolymer matrix formed by the self-assembly or crosslinking of cysteine-rich structural proteins extracted from natural sources. The internal matrix is characterized by a high density of intra-molecular and inter-molecular disulfide bonds that maintain high structural rigidity. It exhibits a high sensitivity to reducing agents which cleave the sulfur-sulfur linkages and trigger the collapse of the nanoparticle architecture.
