Description

This advanced biomimetic system features leukocyte membrane-modified paclitaxel-targeted sustained-release liposomes. The structural matrix incorporates the highly hydrophobic taxane diterpenoid paclitaxel directly into the hydrocarbon tail core of a high-purity phospholipid bilayer, whose exterior surface is fused with native leukocyte membrane fragments. This cellular modification introduces intact native white blood cell membrane proteins (such as integrins and cell-adhesion molecules) onto the vesicle boundary, which alters the surface charge topography, membrane elasticity, and completely prevents the passive crystallographic precipitation of the taxane cargo in open laboratory setups.
