Description

This advanced composite material features liposome-encapsulated hafnium-porphyrin quantum dots loaded with doxorubicin (DOX@Hf-TCPP@LIPs) designed with an inorganic-organic hybrid core-shell architecture. The complex internal structure encapsulates nanoscale hafnium-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (Hf-TCPP) metal-organic framework quantum dots and hydrophilic doxorubicin (DOX) hydrochloride within the aqueous compartments of a robust phospholipid vesicle matrix. This design combines the distinct photodynamic and radiopotentiating characteristics of the porphyrinic quantum dots with the chemical release profile of an anthracycline drug. The surrounding lipid framework prevents quantum dot aggregation and controls the passive diffusion of the doxorubicin cargo.
