Description

This engineered formulation features carbonyl-functionalized liposomes (Liposomes-CO) designed with a reactive electrophilic interface for hydrazide condensation chemistry. The vesicle architecture incorporates a stable phospholipid bilayer core whose outer surface is modified with functionalized polyethylene glycol polymer-lipid conjugates terminating in exposed, unreacted carbonyl (-C=O) functional groups. These active carbonyl groups modify the surface charge profile, introducing a net neutral surface potential while providing a precise, stable chemical handle for future covalent hydrazone cross-linking assays without inducing vesicle aggregation.
