Description

This engineered formulation features long-circulating liposomes with active carboxyl termini designed with a highly reactive, sterically stabilized interface. The vesicle architecture incorporates a stable phospholipid bilayer core whose outer surface is modified with functionalized polyethylene glycol polymer-lipid conjugates terminating in exposed, unreacted carboxylic acid (-COOH) groups. These active carboxyl groups modify the surface charge profile, introducing a net negative surface potential while providing a precise, stable chemical handle for future covalent carbodiimide cross-linking assays without inducing vesicle aggregation.
